Lightbulb Omega500 - Android Emulator

If anyone is interested in a sneak preview of a new Amiga 500 emulator, please drop me an email (addr.: developer (at) galu.info). It's a fork (total overhaul) of UAE4Droid (UAE4All) with a focus on simplicity and achieving best possible "user experience" and with a prospect of switching to PUAE in the future. I'm extremely satisfied with joystick and mouse controls and I'm going to create "dedicated" controls for different kind of software (Worms, piano keyboard for Protracker, etc.)

It will be open source and freely available on Google Play, but I'd like to test it a little bit before releasing it to general public.

My requirements:
- Android phone running Android 4.0 or newer. No tablets except, maybe, Nexus 7 (it's not a tablet-optimized experience yet).
- 1.3 Kickstart ROM (/sdcard/kick.rom)
- willingness to check 3-5 games from my list and send me 2-3 screenshots

@Galu:

Well I just had a little test of omeba500 on my s3 (still on ICS) and for an early build this is running great!

Touch screen mouse controls are very good now for Lemmings...

Battle Chess works great with the touch screen mouse (no sound though?)...

Shuffle Puck Cafe is now playable too (I'm still useless at the game though)...

Mouse in workbench is now useable (its very slightly off but 100% better than uae4droid)...

Some graphics corruption on lemmings 2...

Plays ok though...

Onscreen dpad plays great! Although there's still an issue that for 1 player games (Pang, Rodland etc) the 2nd player autostarts (I'm not sure if your bothered about bug reports this early on though as I guess most things are on the todo list?)..

Looking good so far though (obviously additional drives, joypad mapping and direct input for mice etc etc in the future would be ideal) but so far so good!

Maybe if this goes further then put it in a seperate thread?

Aye, indeed it is. While waiting for Jelly bean, I installed CM10 on my sons.
So its running 4.1.2, .

In regards to the emulator, had a quick look, but everything I tried crashed or gave blank screen. Only got Escape from the planet of the robot monsters to work. Speed was good.

The control selection is good (hope there will be joystick option was well and joystick button option as playing Escape from planet of the robot monsters is a nightmare to play with buttons).

I know its an alpha, but thought I would mention, that both joy ports are active, so if you play a game that allows two players, you end up controlling two characters.

Wow, that looks good. Anyway, is that onscreen keyboard under the main screen when playing on nexus 7?

Thanks.
It's just a "proof of concept" of UI and controls, not even a proper alpha version. Many limitations are incompatibilities are caused by outdated UAE4All core.
The controls are optimized for platform and racing games, I am surprised that some of you have tried soccer or SHMUP games :P

My recommended games list (tested and fully working on 1.3 kick):
Addams Family, Arabian Nights (no crack version), All Terain Racing (ATR, cr PSG), Lethal Weapon, Benefactor (crCLS t+3 FLT), McDonald Land (cr SKR), Chuck Rock 2 (cr ATX t+9 ATX), Oh No! More Lemmings (mouse,), Arcade Pool (mouse, cr DLM), Micro Machines (cr FLT), Shufflepuck Cafe (mouse, cr PNA), Gods (cr CSL t+7 Setrox), Soccer Kid (cr FLT), Sleepwalker (cr QTX).

Known bugs:
- keyboard not yet fully functional (missing SHIFT/Caps keys, Esc key not working).
- there's no option to disable the second controller.
- no physical and external controller support (Bluetooth, USB OTG) - sorry JXD owners, I'll need your help when I'll be adding physical button support but for now I'd like to focus on a good touchscreen experience.
+ everything I've stated before

@FOL - send me a screenshot from your N7, please
@spajdr - there's no portrait mode yet

@spajdr: I am very busy this week (non-Amiga stuff ), but I'll try to fix the aforementioned problems (joystick, keyboard) before adding adz/zip support and new savestates feature (w/ screenshots) and before experimenting with "soccer" joystick:

Btw, check out my other free Android app - http://dev.galu.info/lobowiki.html ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...lobowiki&hl=en ) - a Wikipedia client that queues all the clicked links and let you swipe between them (the ultimate procrastination tool )
