Just something I quickly knocked up in the last 30mins or so.
An Amiga's life was a short one One that I doubt that it chose Imagine the hardships and hazards Of the ST becoming its foes. It fought long and hard against it Breaking it apart right till the end Smashing, killing and burning The ST became no ones friend The Amiga shone until Commodore Went bust and threw it all out Left us Amigans with nothing No matter how loud we could shout. We continued with our machines Much to their surprise We knew it would live forever We called it the Amigans uprise. To cut a long story short We live here on EAB A place for all to enjoy Taking the P@#s out of the god damned ST. |

There was a KillerGorilla from EAB,
Who drank no coffee but iced tea, He woke up in the chiller, Under a bloke called Dave miller, Who ended up impaled on a tree. Beat that |

There was a Killergorilla so mad,
Rampaging around made him glad, He broke out in a sweat, When this bird, a brunette, Rubbed her chest up and down on his lad. Don't tell me, you don't like brunettes Last edited by DH; 24 September 2010 at 16:16. Reason: Wrong version posted |

Petro
Wrote this poem after reading the latest interview with Petro on Amiga Future:
Petro Poem: Petro, Petro, You are now so retro, You helped the Amiga comeback, With the Amiga 1200 magic pack, The Amiga is now in other hands, And you are looking in the Asian lands, Why you Petro left us alone? When you know the Amiga is loved by everyone, No-one forgets your achievements, Why you did not focus on improvements? To release better AmigaOS, Remember, you were the boss, 25 years since the Amiga began to shine, Where are you to show us the new AmigaOne? We miss you so much, Every Amigan misses your warm touch, Good bye Petro and all the best, Now I am joining the rest, The Amiga is still around, Even without Petro, we will have another round, Through better or worse, Nobody can stop its course, Of the brilliant platform, Where the best artists are born, Petro, you are always welcome, Even when you say you will not come. The Amiga X1000 is coming, With our without Petro’s welcoming. |

Nobody ever said it couldn't be done.
Some stuff was done. The stuff that was done was good. Some people bought and used it. Nobody said it would never die. It didn't die. Nobody said it would never die. It didn't die. People said computers would be used. They were. They are. Amiga isn't anymore. PIE. PIE. BACON. PIE. CHEESE. PIE. |

"Ode to an Amiga", written in 1997 by a certain Amiga-obsessed 14-year-old:
"What is the best, Amiga or PC?" My friends are forever asking me, I usually have the same reply, "The PC", I tell them, with a bit of a sigh. I know that I'm wrong, and I'm glad that it's so, I'd like to upgrade, but I don't have the dough. People judge the Amiga by what they can see, I don't have the cash for a 4000T. "Get a PC" they tell me, "Amigas are dead", That's what those so-called "friends" of mine said, I can't really blame them, but, in the end, I don't have a lot of spare money to spend. An Amiga 600, no more and no less, Sits in my room on its cold metal desk, All by itself, it's a sad thing to see, I had no other choice but to get a PC. Without the old cliché - "Abort Retry Fail", The PC is ten on a one to five scale, "Eight point Three" filenames you no longer see, Except using CrossDos, in old Workbench 3. Give us a hard drive, I'm sure we're all sick Of all those requestors, what are we, thick? Nobody likes that old screen to arrive, "Please insert Workbench in any disk drive." I know, we do have the best PD Scene, But sadly, it's not quite what it might have been. Amigas are brilliant, but still, more and more, I find myself reaching for Left-Alt F4. Amigas are cheaper, but people will stake That little bit more for Duke Nukem and Quake. So much for the Paula, as nice as it's been, It's just not as good as Soundblaster 16. I can't read the Times without seeing an ad For some kind of PC, it's really that bad, The PC looks like it's got three treble-tops, With zero Amigas on sale in the shops. It's mail order only, though Eyetech and Power Have done a good job with their 1200 Tower The hardware might be just the thing to enhance But without the right software, it hasn't a chance. No more mistakes, you must get it right Or Amigas are losing a pitiful fight, Amigas's great father is now, sadly, gone, But Jay Miner's legacy still lingers on. Amigas have suffered a whole lot of pain, But put in the effort, we'll thrive once again. We'll know that we've really caught up with the bus, When Microsoft want to make software for us! |
