Amiga Point of View Issue 5 - Contributions

Now that blackcornflake has returned to the EAB, following his spiritual kung fu journey around the world, we have started work on APoV issue 5!

If you'd like to contribute a review then let us know.

We also require letters to the editor so send them in!

Old issues can be downloaded here: http://www.abime.net/apov/

Ooh, a contributor!

There's no real fixed length for reviews; a bit of variety is good, imo. Got a specific game in mind?

And there's no overall premise at this point. Lots of interesting things, though.

Things! Of interest! Lots!

Plus boobs.

Very very cool. Thanks for making it

Just a question: Can I get it printed? Subscribed to a printed version?

Nice. The original is back too just in time after the sad demise of Amigaville.

What software did you use to put this magazine together? What would be recommended for power, flexibility and ease of use?

We used QuarkXPress which is the desktop publishing software used to make paper magazines back in the day. InDesign seems to be more popular now.

There are no plans to publish a printed version but there is probably a website that will provides this service.

Thanks- yikes quark express is 1,000 euros. Indesign expects you to pay forever- not a chance.

Just stumbled across this thread and am downloading the back-copies

When is Issue 5 out? Did I miss it?? I checked the site, but I can't see a publication date.

WRT letters and content - I assume letters can be in any format (in other words 'email'), but what about other articles? Can we just send text and associated images, and then you guys do the page-setting? Or would you prefer a pre-formatted .pdf? I'm assuming the former, but thought I'd ask

Looking forward to the read.....

I write for APoV, and I usually send through my piece in Word format with some associated images that I think would look good in the finalised article. The APoV crew take the reigns from there in terms of layout and page-setting.

If you have an idea for an article, it is usually a good idea to make your intentions clear to Black Cornflake or Cody beforehand, so they know what to expect. You can do so on this forum or via email.

Hope this helps

Can inexpensive Ads be purchased for inclusion in APoV?

Yeah, sorry about that. I've had a really bad Gimme a Break addiction. You know the one. Mid-80s MAME pool game. Dark places, man. Dark places. I'm clean now, though

And yes, fear not loyal readers - as of [glances at desktop clock] 26 April 2022, APoV 5 is still being worked on. Or has started being worked on. Stuff is happening. And, fuelled by 6 vitamins, iron and cocaine, I will blitz it!
