Amiga CD games possible on CD32

I think this needs a thread of its own so we know where to look, as i think people get confused what Amiga CD games can and can't work on the CD32, and if possible one's that maybe the team can get working with their skills.

I'll start listing the games which already boot and play on the CD32 which are;

Inherit The Earth (also has unofficial English release)
Cedric And The Lost Sceptre
Wendetta 2175
Mag!!!
Fightin' Spirit
Black Viper
Star Crusader
Kang Fu

After 1996 support seriously dropped and most games were either out of reach in terms of spec i.e 030+ CPU and fast ram needed so those won't be listed here, but I'll list below what games seem to be in reach of being able to be playable but won't boot which are;

Street Racer
Ultimate Gloom
Final Odyssey - unofficial version here!

Big Red Adventure, The - unofficial version here!
The Strangers - unofficial version here!
Pinball Brain Damage
UropaČ: The Ulterior Colony
Gunbee F-99: The Kidnapping Of Lady Akiko (floppy version?)
Phoenix Fighters - unofficial version here!
Powder
Foundation
Eat The Whistle: France 98 Edition
Sixth Sense Investigations - can't find any version that boots, anyone with an official version confirm this boots on a CD32?
Samba World Cup 98
Prophet, The: The Tome Of Primall - Chapter 1
Red Mars
Strip Fighter

Please chip in and say if any of those won't work and give reasons and I'll remove any possible workable titles.

Humans 3: Evolution - Lost In Time

Legends

Humans 3, Legends, Mag!!!, Fightin' Spirit and Star Crusader were specifically published for the CD32 AFAIK. Fightin' Spirit may have been re-released for Amiga CD only by Alive Mediasoft (see HERE, HERE and HERE), but otherwise the games in your list were released for both CD-equipped Amiga's and the CD32.

Checking the CD32 and Amiga CD game releases in HOL may help in reducing the confusion. While not perfect, it's perhaps the best source in trying to distinguish the two types of releases:

http://hol.abime.net/hol_search.php?..._unreleased=no (CD32 releases)

http://hol.abime.net/hol_search.php?..._unreleased=no (Amiga CD releases)

Well that's where i got the info from anyway, but I've removed Humans 3, Legends from the list as they state CD-32 on the disc, but the others just state Amiga CD which may confuse some people, so I'll leave them up.

@Amigajay
Yep, strike Fightin' Spirit from my previous post - that was indeed a dual CD32/Amiga CD release. Thought something was off about that when I checked HOL - will have to correct that!

Mag!!! is an interesting one. It says "CD32 version" on the titlescreen, but nothing on the game box or CD itself:

Yeah there is a couple that state CD32 next to Amiga CD on the box, but nothing (or just Amiga CD) on the disc, so if you just buy the CD on ebay etc you won't know its CD32 compatible.

Well, if you see the Alive Mediasoft release of Fightin' Spirit on Ebay.....then avoid it if you're chasing the dual CD32/Amiga CD version, as it probably only contains the OCS/ECS and AGA disk versions of the game (similar to the CD release of Civilization).

http://www.oocities.org/timessquare/...6437/amisf.htm

Must remember to create a separate HOL entry for that one too now!

Nemac IV: The Director's Cut We've done

Capital Punishment should be on the list (Not sure if it was an Amiga CD release by itself though, possibly just as a bundle with T-Zero). It's almost working thanks to a tool Galahad put together (which is required for the thing to run from a CD32 disc at all) but has some crashing issues.

Powder we can do a release of this, probably CDTV/CD32 even. Has the same problem as Cap Punishment but works perfectly thanks to Galahad's utility. I wanted to do this as some sort of bundle release but it's probably interesting enough to release on it's own.

Gunbee is planned, Steve's even done the cover for it. The main issue is that it's still being sold via ACP&TCP (for around 2 euros as I recall). We're likely to release some sort of "conversion kit" where, if you own the DMS files from the archive download, it'll embed them into a CD32 ISO.

Pinball Brain Damage is also ACP&TCP, that isn't a definite no but we'd also need to require ownership of the original.

Wendetta I might do a "fixed" release for, it's one of the handful of games that you need to boot the CD32 -before- inserting the disc to play (Kang Fu and F17 are the others I'm aware of).

Eat the Whistle I've tried and failed to do a release of this due to memory requirements.

Onescappe is tentatively planned as a release for SX-32 owners only

Thanks for the update Earok, btw Capital Punishment was on a CD32 Gamer demo disk, maybe Galahad could use the basis of that or just add the remainder of the files to make it the full game?
I didnt put CP on the list because AFAIK it was only a floppy release.

Are they still to be uploaded? I can't find anything in the Zone or on the EAB ftp server.

Can you confirm what's on the Alive Mediasoft release of Fightin' Spirit CD please (it should look like THIS) - the CD32 version or the AGA and/or OCS/ECS disk versions of the game?

It's linked to a .nrg file which doesn't load.

Here is a link to the .iso.

Capital Punishment had always crashing issues.
I got that Game back then as an Original, and tryed it on 3 Different Amiga Settings.

Stock 1200
1200 with blizzard 30-50Mhz 32 MB
4000 with Blizzard 60-50mhz 128 MB

This Game always Crashed ( even with the original patch ) . I want my Money back.

It was indeed a Capital Punishment for the Amiga & 4 Me. What A Piece .. ....

Worst Amiga Game Ever made, considering all the hype and Stuff.

Just thinking of it driving me NUTS
