NovaCoder's 1200
A couple of little pics of my new Amiga (now I've got it setup)
Not bad for a 15 year old computer is it Still trying to get my head around the OS (newbie) but I am making some progress and it's all good clean fun Current Spec: AmigaSys running on OS3.1 with a Blizzard 1230 Mk4, 16mb, external PCMICA 4x CDROM, flashy card reader and a joystick. WB running in RGB 640x480 256 color mode (Multiscan) and composite (via a TV-Box thanx to Zetr0) for games (just have to switch off the TV box for VGA, no cable swapping needed) on a 19inch NEC MultiScan Last edited by NovaCoder; 12 June 2008 at 02:19. |

Get him on irc and I'm sure we could help him out. You seem to be allergic to irc these days blade.

Yep from AmigaKit with a pre-installed 4GB CF HD...looked brand-new when I unpacked it
I've also got a wireless card from AmigaKit lying around somewhere so I'll get that setup some time. I've also got 0S 3.9 to install & WDHLOAD to setup properly. I find it amazing how good an AGA A1200 WB can look, very impressive considering the age |

Running Workbench in Multiscan 256 colour mode must be super super slow! Why not try reducing it down to 16 or 32 colours, use a palette locking tool like Simple Palette, a GUI enhancer like Visual Prefs, and remap your background image to the new palette using Personal Paint and FS Error Defusion dithering. Workbench will run a lot faster and look nicer, even if the colours are reduced.

The composite through the tv box with the PAL driver was not doing my eyes any good in WB. I'll have a look at speeding it up in the future by reducing colors etc, just playing around at the moment |

No Im not getting any good at all as only spend on average and hour a week on my decks. Ive got a really good record collection now though as last year I got a job lot of 250 records for £20 which basically contained all the records I used to have the first time round I had decks (11 years ago!)
I came so close to getting an Amiga at the bootfair this weekend. There was a complete boxed Amiga A1200 setup complete with printer, monitor and a box of games. It was interesting to look through but in the end I walked away as just dont have the space. Did get some good PC games though: Elder Scrolls Oblivion for £1 and Colin McRae Dirt for £2 |
