Best thing, IMO, is that it runs betetr than with Explorer. It was a VERY helpful program on my P133, it made Win98 run like a bloody charm.
If you need any help lemme know! |

I will. And thanks! I'm probably going to image my C: drive to a new drive today and start using that instead of this one here that's on its deathbed. Then I will run this "fix" on my Windows!

HEY! I missed this whole therad...
I want to download this Serenade thing, I was reading about shell replacing, and it seemed to be very cool.. Akira, could you please upload this stuff to the zone again? My PC is getting cool, now I have Opera, Miranda, and I'll get a shell replacement.... Edit: it came to mind that this thing may be a memory-eater. I have just 32 mbs of ram, do you think it would work nicely here? Last edited by Shatterhand; 18 September 2002 at 08:49. |

Hey, does someone still have Akira's Serenade pack, the one he uploaded with the .txt explaining how to install it and stuff?
He said he lost that pack, so he made another one and sent it to me, and it was screwed up If someone still has the zip file he uploaded, could please upload it again to the zone? thx ! |

The thing with newer versions is that they don't run as well on older machines. Shatterhands NEEDS my old hybrid version!
I hope it works this time mate and , if it doesn't, it's yer computer :P |

@Akira
I have only just noticed this thread and SERENADE sounds like a very cool prog to spice up my terminally dull M.E. The problem is I am far from an expert with my P.C (yet ) and have a few questions: If it knackers my computer, how difficult will it be to return to its previous setting? If it does go wrong, how badly can it go wrong? What if anything would go wrong? Sorry if these are dumbass questions but I dont wanna start something without being able to sort it out if all goes wrong. |

I couldn't find Serenade on tucows, but its homepage is http://www.courtah.net/
@Dastardly I installed and removed Serenade, and everything seems OK.... but I would imagine this kind of thing can be risky. The FAQ on the page above has some information that you might like to read first. Last edited by maddog; 16 December 2002 at 12:08. |
