Operation Thunderbolt
Hi mates,
I'm trying to run Operation Thunderbolt (.ipf version, SPS ID #547) in WinUAE, with my usual A500 config. Is it normal that I cannot see the gun pointer? I can only see it when firing, not before! It's impossible to play it this way . Is there something wrong (not with my 100% ultra-tested config) ? EDIT: if, after loading the game, I press the F8 key and I set the joystick control, then I can see a red pointer during the game. But if the mouse control is set, I have the above described "problem"... Last edited by Supamax; 08 October 2009 at 04:04. |

I have done a quick check, and indeed at beginning you dont see any gun pointer, but after a while you have one, i dont know, if you have to earn one while playing.

Mmmm, do you mean it's normal to fire "blindly"?

I suppose it must be.
They wanted the mouse to mimic a light gun, and you didn't have a target with the gun... |

Looking at the original arcade (
[ Show youtube player ]) I think that KG is right. Seems they have 'forgotten' to activate the crosshair for the mouse

I remember this game coming out and the reviews commenting on no crosshair.
You are meant to track your fire by using the impacts of missed rounds. EDIT see this review on AMR http://amr.abime.net/review_28791 column 2 page 25 |

Yep, have a look at page 55 here : http://amr.abime.net/issue_163_pages
The 'Unlike Op Wolf...' bit gives it away. Edit : Nice one DDNI Now we have two sources that there is no crosshair |

@ DDNI & TCD:
it seemed so strange to me (no visible target pointer, I mean), but... you're right . Ok, I do NOT like Operation Thunderbolt |
