I don't know anything about the patch but the version of Warp3D we are using (Avenger) is the only one for Mediator users, the Warp3D which you can download from Aminet is for CGX4 users, C/BVision & GREX/Voodoo.
AFAIK Cosmos dosn't post here anymore, but you may get an answer from him on Amibay |

thanks steve, i am aware that this is for a mediator with a voodoo card thats why im trying to patch it, according to the readme it says you get a small perfomance increase so im willing to try it out.(i am using the version on aminet on a mediator) i think ill open a thread on amibay as well to see if he answers, thanks steve EDIT:-the patch is for the warp3d.library in libs: which is the exact same file for a mediator and prometheus or ppc based system uses for permidia and voodoo cards.not to be confused with the individuel drivers for the cards themselves.i just checked. Great, I'll follow the thread on Amibay - might solve my issues with the A4000 so I'll be watching close

no probs steve,im interested to see how this turns out.
i was only messing with this because i got "wazp3d"(no its not a typo its a warp3d interpreter from the looks of it) to work on mine(on all the cards i have including a radeon 9250) and it was very easy to set up and made everything warp3d realated work straight off,the only problem is its software only so its very sssslllllllloooowwww. ok ive patched the warp3d.library from 4.2 to 4.3b1 and here are the results:-
in glquake(blitzquake) i get 24-25fps(this is what i had already been getting)this is taken from a clean boot and a soft reset, there was no perfomance increase from what i can see. quake 2(minigl) i get 12-13 fps(also what i was getting to start out with)also done from a clean boot and soft reset, also no performance increase from what i can see. the test was done on a 1260 tower 060@100mhz with mediator and voodoo 3 3000. also bear in mind i have hsmathlibs46"registered" install in a romable form,so the system is already optimised for a fpu perfomance increase. if anyone want to try this patch i can upload it to the zone so the can try it themselves(of course it will be pre-patched for ease of use) Last edited by roy bates; 02 January 2012 at 13:41. |
