I'm betatesting some things. They are making a lot of very hard work, but I have to say that today, for the very first time I've been able to nicely listen -using the clockport- this mp3 song [ Show youtube player ]
using the latest beta of the library. There are still a lot of hardware configs to try like my clockport splitter, but as I've also been commented: this looks promising, so keep the faith on this .

This morning it wasn't working, but ... What a difference a day makes... now it's playing perfect .

Now AmigaAMP works. This is playing a radio streaming with wifi.

[ Show youtube player ]

The hardware I've got is the Amiga 1200, an accelerator ACA 1230/56, an Indivision AGA MKII, a clockport splitter by DJ Base, a RapidRoad and the Prisma Megamix. For wifi I use RoadShow. I made a launcher that starts it -in the video I had to click on it twice as the first time I didn't see all of the lights turning on- and an Orinoco PCMCIA wifi card.

You can be wondering why AmigaAMP (I'm using a beta version from the author) doesn't show the Scope running like when you use it on WinUAE with AKReal. Thomas Wencel told me that the Scope needs decoded data to run. When AmigaAMP does the decoding itself it's easy. But if the data is sent to the MAS player or to the Prisma Megamix, then the hardware does all off the decoding and sends it straight to its own output. AmigaAMP doesn't have a chance to look at it to see the levels.

Now I only miss a "PrismaMpeg.device" so I can also use AMPlifier.

Edit: I won't touch my hardware till I have it all working perfect, but I've got a new Fast ATA MKIV from Amigakit in the box as my latest one died. I will add it as it fits when everything is fully working.

This was announced 3 years ago, will this ever get a proper release date where we can all actually buy one?

Amiwest is happening now, yesterday it was annouced to be released in the next week or so. They even had some at the show for sale.
It was announced 3 years ago, as explained time and time again there were major driver issues, that out of our control. All is now sorted, it can be released.

@FOL

I got MAS Player on my A1200, and are quite happy about with it.
But Im curious about the difference in performance/quality while used with for example Hippoplayer, AmigaAmp, etc

Also, will it be able to play mp3s at higher bitrate than MAS player without causing lag?

I got a V600 too, which plays mp3s flawlessly, but for games and demos (nonRTG) I use the A1200.
If there is sufficient performance differences and features Prisma vs MAS, I might consider upgrading.

Yes, I don't know a date and I've got some more info, but my feeling is that finally this is going to happen in a very few days.

i guess price is the key now, otherwise it would be better buy Vampyre and play all the music without any specialized decoder (not the real sound-) card...

It's a bit of a stretch to call it a proper soundcard ey? Its more of a co-processor for encoding / decoding *specific* audio formats.
http://www.vlsi.fi/en/products/vs1063.html
But, yea lets not nitpick.. ;-)

Anyway, I don't get the following.. The clockport version requires a A1200 Tower? (I Read it on Wiki page)
First of all, if its targeted at A1200 Tower users, why not a PCI (Mediator) version. And secondly.. card seems small, seems to me you could fit it in a regular A1200 with a proper connector / adapter to the clockport, no? (Maybe the Wiki is outdated?)
