I think this should be in News because of the Captain's importance to EAB. Wish you all the best Captain.

You can have a great wedding for 16.000 euros seriously, 51.000 euros (60000 dollars), and she asked her friends to pay ?

I just want to barf !

Whoa, maybe tone back the hate a little bit. But $60,000 isn't even that ridiculous for what weddings cost. I've been to weddings that were $150 a plate, as in that's the cost to feed per person, for 100 people at the wedding that's $15,000 alone. An open bar can easily be another $10,000. And this is in a "cheap" part of America.

Now the person in the article is talking about flying everyone to Aruba, which some stuff might be cheaper. But some people go crazy about weddings and parents and everyone else feeds into this because "Hey, Susie spent $40,000 on her wedding and the band was awful, I'm going to outdo it for mine"

Now I wouldn't do any of this except if my kind Amiga fellows will donate enough to fly everyone invited to my wedding out to West Chester, PA and rent out the old Commodore headquarters from whomever currently owns it. People in the wedding party have to wear full disguises to look like the whole Amiga team, Dave Haynie, RJ Mical, Carl Sassenrath, etc. The bride will be made up to look like Kiki Stockhammer of course or if that looks silly then Amy the Squirrel.

What's really sad is that after all that extravaganza wedding rolling up $1000s and $1000s of dollars they get divorced a year later because they can't stand each other.

Holy ghost! Be buggered if I would ever spend such an amount on a wedding.

My wedding 35+ years ago cost me 3 or 4 hundred dollars and most of that was on grog for the piss up in my backyard after me and the missus got back from doing the nuptials down at the local court house.

They have already gone crazy with these prices. Once, everything was much cheaper.

Sorry to hear that DH

Could be one of the many reasons I could not be bothered by the whole marriage thing
