The method I'm refering to ("the zip method") is the one on the ClassicWB webpage, which specifies the files must be zipped from within WinUAE - no PC filesystem ever touches the Amiga files. And that was my whole point in the previous post - as you say, PC and CDROM filesystems can mess up the files.

Epic thread,
I will say though that I saw no one asking how he was zipping-unzipping System.zip. It's an easy thing to assume to do it Windows side when someone says "zip" as you automativally think of winzip and such.
Maybe changing it LHA or such might be better for the future?

That's a good suggestion, Eclipse.
Perhaps LZX could be used to give tighter compression.

I know this is an epeic thread but you must realy read it from the start and yes it was all pc based and no winuae used

I`m sure Bloodwyc has looked into these options

But that's the whole point. You *must* create the zip file from within WinUAE to preserve the file attributes, and if lha or lzx were recommended instead for this task, users would naturally assume this should be done within the emulation.

At least, that's what I thought Eclipse had in mind.

LZX can be used as a HDD image for WinUAE too, so the process of accessing it through WinUAE is so much easier

That is indeed what I meant.
EDIT: Thinking back to when I got into the Amiga again I have to admit I tried unzipping Windows side as well.

You just need to copy the ".backdrop" file back across from the default package. It's in the root directory.

This file is simply a text document that contains a list of icons to "Leave out".

Do you run all WHDLoad games with latest ClassicWB?I have problems with some games.I even reinstalled ClassiWB and reinstalled one game(from Killergorilla packs) to check, the game extracted from WinUAE,still no works. This one game is 4D sports driving, the error messages says devs:kickcstart/kickstart A500 not found or something similar, and the kickstart is in the devs folder anyway I insist that I reinstalled all it right now!

The same problem from real Amiga, reinstalled recently too.

Are you sure you have these three files in 'devs/kickstarts' :

kick34005.A500
kick34005.A500.RTB
kick34005.A500.PAT ?

The first file was removed in the latest ClassicWB packs.
