You`re right,in fact the whole game is a rip off, most of it comes from Total recall.I only decided to rip this one cos I used to play it all the time when I had my real amiga....

Hey, c'mon. The thing is Rubicon was drawed by the same author (Mark Jones). It was when this "style" in computer graphics was very popular, it looked good on TV, but not so good on monitors. I really liked the game.

Sorry, didn`t mean to sound like I was personally attacking Mark Jones.I was just saying that the two games are extremely similar,The main sprites are virtually identical and have the same walking animation frames. The alien level even has a Arnie lookalike on a hovver bike.I think that Mark Jones is a very talented artist but I just noticed the similarities between the two games and commented on them in reply to Mavado.

Sure thing. I was workin for 2 years in game industry (programmer) and mostly remembered just one thing: deadline. One of our gfx artist was the master of recycling .
I don't know mr.Jones nor enyone from 21 Century, but I think Rubicon was oryginal project and Total Recall was just a quick licenced game to make some money.

BTW. thanks for the rips, you are really fast!!!

Rubicon Sprites (Total Recall)

Hello, Mark Jones here. Yes, Total Recall did "recycle" some of Rubicon's...er...."style", but Rubicon was finished first and, in my opnion, the better game.

Anyone have a link to those sprites? I don't have a copy, and I get quite a few request from potential clients for samples of by sprite stuff.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

@ Mark Jones
I agree, Rubicon pissed all over Total Recall, mainly cos it had an Aliens inspired level and it had the freedom to be original whereas Total Rec was a movie tie-in and so was more linear in design.BTW the main sprite in Rubicon was so cool, who would have thought that a fat bald dude could be an action hero? (apart from Bruce willis of course)
