How much money have you spent on the Amiga?

I counted up the money I've spent on my computer the other day, having recieved my acclerator card, and this is what I found:

A1200 - £40
2.1GB Hard Drive - £60
External Floppy - £10
Squirrel SCSI and CD-ROM drive - £50
Large PSU - £45
040 acclerator with 32MB RAM - £76

Total - £281! And that's not counting my old accelerator, and software and stuff like that. That's a fair amount of money to spend on an Amiga in this day and age. It'd be interesting to hear what other people have spent on their old and existing Amiga setups, and also if anyone has picked up a REAL bargain...

A4000 #1

Mirage 4000 pro tower case= 480 US dollars
Cyberstorm PPC = 350 US dollars
Voodoo 5500 = 55 US dollars
Soundblaster 128 = 15 US dollars
100mbit network card= 15 US dollars
18gig 10k rpm SCSI hd = 30 US dollars
SCSI CD-RW= 20 US dollars
IDE CD-ROM= 15 US dollars
The A4000D which I used for this machine = 80 US dollars

A4000 #2

Cyberstorm MKII '060 = 250 US dollars
X-Surf 2 network card = 90 US dollars
Prelude ZII soundcard = 40 US dollars
4.3 gig SCSI HD = 20 US dollars
24X SCSI cd-rom = 25 US dollars
The A4000 cost me 100 US dollars when I bought and inside it was a Cybervision 64 gfx card I'm using in it now and a Micronik scandoubler which I'm also using
Forgot to add that I bought a pair of Creative I-Trigue stereo speakers for it also for around 60 US dollars

These are the Amiga's I've spent most dough on recently.

Have only bought small bits for the others like a Blizzard 1230 MKIV for my A1200 and a GVP A530 for my A500+

Here are my purchases since 2002 (including shipping).

For my A500:

Viper 520CD with 68882 = $368 CAD
Mini Megi = $160 US
A501 = $50 US
Microspeed Trackball = $70 US
TurboPrint = $70 US (worst purchase ever!)
OS 3.9 = $40 US (another bad one)
A1200 3.1 ROMs = $40 US
A500 3.1 ROM = $25 US
DCTV = $50 CAD
DSS = $25 CAD
Mr. Myzta mouse adapter = $37 US
Super Denise = $25 US
56K Modem - $50 CAD
AMOS Professional = $25 US
Finalwriter 97 = $25 CAD
Other Misc. software = $150 US

Other Amiga stuff:
Amiga 1000 with 1Mb - Free!
Amiga 500 with 1Mb - Free! (for parts)
1084 Monitor - Free!

So with exchange and everything I've spent around $1000 CAD since 2002 - pretty shocking for an A500, but I've had lots of fun with my Amiga. I think I've got the most kick-ass Amiga 500 in the world!

I wouldn't even start counting, as I have used way to much money already, but roughly 750 - 1500 UKP. Anyway, I have some pretty good setups, so I'm not that worried about it, and in the end, when I decide to sell, I can get most of my expenses covered...

Indeed, it's well spent money which you'll always get back in the end and even more thanks to Ebay

Just the most recent spendings since I build a fresh setup a year or two ago.
Allthough recent these are approximately because I cannot (will not) exactly remember all.

A1200 - 60 Euro
Apollo 1260 32MB - 120 Euro <ouch that hurt, good card though>
Scandoubler/FF - a kidney <ouch, another kidney gone for that (for real; 80 euro)
4G 2.5" Harddisk - Free <yes this is quite possible, I even have a spare>
Squirrel SCSI - 40 Euro <ebay....it happens>
SCSI CDRW in external housing - 10 Euro <cheap....very cheap>
CF - PCMCIA adapter 10 Euro <worth the mention?>
256M CF 45 Euro (boy have those prices dropped) <best transfer method ever! Just reqs a bootdisk>
Dynalink L10c NIC - 30 Euro <dirt cheap for what it does!>
Old A500 PSU - Free <to prevent sudden reboots>
SVGA monitor - Free <it pays to replace a fuse>
Dustcover <more a UV blocker> - 5 euro
Spare white US keyboard - 7,50 euro
Legal software - 20 Euro (just whdload the rest is pirated <evil grin>)

EXCLUDING THE TRANSPORT COST FOR VARIOUS ITEMS.

Come to think of it, I never added this all up. Lets do so......

And that's a 427.50 euro A1200 ;-) .....ahem......sigh......at least it is still white!
Lets not do this with all the bills I have of my old beetle.....not to mention petrol ;-)

He he. I've got a 1958 Beetle and I would probably have a brain seizure if I added up the money I spent on it.
