Chariots of Wrath...an ending?

Is it possible to complete Chariots of Wrath or does it just go on for ever? I think
there was something about saving a princess, wasn't there always, which implies there
must be an ending. I have been round the map at least once.

I did notice something strange just as you are about to complete a circuit of the map
there is a breakout-style section and the graphics are corrupted. At exactly the
same point in the Atari ST version an identical problem occurs. Should there be a picture
of the princess or something behind the brick wall?

I played through the full map too and had the same graphical corruption. It looks like the game has no ending and loops back to the beginning but a bug prevents this from happening correctly.

Even before this point the levels repeat themselves too.

I suppose in those days the programmer was the playtester as well but how
could they miss a bug that big?

Could be lack of development time. Also the programmers probably didn't expect anyone to play that far!

Send a message via MSN to dlfrsilver
or maybe it's a protection thing, since this game is in files, but they are
on an MFM format. I have the original and the SPS version should arrive soon
so you'll be able to test

You'll find out soon I guess, but given the game's qualities - I am not willing to bet

I can confirm that even the SPS version is knackered. In later rehashes of the platformer stage, one floating ledge that should appear under a diamond fails to materialise, so when trying to collect it you fall to your doom. This wouldn't be a problem but for it being a necessity to acquire the whole jewellery box of scattered knick-knacks. Even if you reach the end of the dungeon within the imposed time limit, there's no way to complete the level if you've missed a gem along the way. You're trapped until the ticking timer ensures you spontaneously implode. Hmmf.
