Alternative EAB Logos

I must admit, it's not really worth adding a snow scene right across the width of the page, as most of it, after the snowman, will be obscured no matter the aspect ratio or resolution. The IRC, in the middle, is auto expanding, so you'll still be left with about next to nothing of snow scene.

Edit: I'll just concentrate on the EAB Logo and the Snowman (TCD's snowman)

Just make it so that the snow on the ground behind the snowman tapers off like a hill of snow so that on the far right of the snowman (just to left of the IRC box) the snow tapers down to 0 pixels high so that it matches up with the white bar across the top.

Too late, RCK has recieved the two new versions, we'll have to make do with these this year I think.

Still, it wont look too obvious that they just suddenly halt but then again, until I see it for myself I'll never know.

You've all got to remember, I'm working with a super hi-res image, which needs to be scaled down for the page, and not everything works well, as in graphically, when resized.

Sweet Now I somehow like the new colors of the font even more

btw. The colours are picked from the original image but as the image is so hi-res (over 3000 pixels wide) the blends and effects I am using can be tweaked much better to give that overall look

Edit: background colour is now matching the EAB page. The colour used in the hi-res version that RCK sent me was slightly bluer and I didn't notice until it had been added to the page.

Poor Dizzy. He's not on enough at the moment so he's missing far too many posts.

btw. Where is he these days. Has he moved to a far away galaxy or something and can only appear on EAB through the night (depending on your location) or is he now a Vampire hence he's only out at night

But it would need to be associated with user's time, since people from different time zones visit EAB, dunno if that's to complicated to implement.

I was annoyed with the empty back of the snowman so I modified the current gfx......didn't know about this thread.... well, to no avail I guess...

from my other post:

Well, the snowman irritates me as he has a square blue back, no gfx from the left logo on his image, so I modified his image and added snow and stuff so it blends in more, and kept it as gif as the original is gif.

Then the left image eab_xmas_2008.jpg has a border around it, so I removed the border to the right so it would blend together with the snowman image. Also, made the snow effect sort of fade out to the right of the snowman image, or it would have been a sharp STOP there, not looking good

Well I mostly visit eab when I'm at work, and this week I work at night
Friday morning I don't have to work the next 8 Weeks
(so guess I will not visit much the next 8 weeks either )
