***help Me Please***
Hey all!
I remember as a child playing on a game called 'psycho santa' i found an ADF file which contains this game with others. (Assassins Disk 48.ADF) Im really new to amiga emulation, so can you help me out PLEASE! ) What do i need to get the ADF file running so i can play the game? Which emulator and other softwear do i need? Can i play the game on my PC with windows 98, or can you only play the game on an Amiga? Thank you all! James... chain_dog_2000@yahoo.com |

DANGER! Will "Chaindog" Robinson, DANGER!
I feel a "read the damn FAQ" reply coming, Have a look at the FAQ if your still stumped post back here. Edit: oh what the hell, you need WinUAE or WinFellow ill just go look for the link. I use WinUAE. Last edited by sgt_chimp; 01 December 2001 at 18:30. |

Stupid subject
Why oh why do these newbies always choose a completely stupid subject like "*** please help me ***" rather than say "what amiga emulator do I need and where to get it" etc? Man that irritates me...
That and them not reading the bloody FAQ's, if it was easy I would force those 2 html pages to be read before they could access any posting part of the board... |

Maybe they chose titles like that because they're newbies?
As for forcing people to read an FAQ, I've posted a quite stupid question once about using an emulated hd(I didn't see an FAQ though) whereafter I forgot the site where I posted. Talk about stupid At any rate. It'd be hard to enforce that newbies would have to read the FAQ. Just like with license agreements, if you're faced with something before moving on people are likely to skip ahead. So the only way to make sure they read the thing would be to have a pop-quiz afterwards. It would be funny to see a newbie answering his own question though. |

Splash screen? do you mean the "This game was cracked by............" screen or the Amiga please insert disk screen.
If its the cracked screen, make sure your mouse is set up in port 1 (under the game an I/O port tab) and press the left button. If its the second then you have not inserted the ADF's into the virtual drives. (under the floppies tab) Remember WinUAE also emulates floppy drive access, just because its loading from a PC HDD doesn't mean it will load as fast as a HDD, you can bump floppy speeds up to x8 under the floppies tab. Go to the "misc" tab and select "show LED's in full screen" to be able to monitor disk access in full screen, if your playing in a window, then those little numbers in the bottom right display disk access. |

ok this may sound stupid, Have you tried pressing fire on the splash screen.
Are you using a joypad or the keyboard? and have you set up winUAE to read from the joyport 0 or Keyboard layout A, B or C on the amiga gameport 2. |

This game works for me.
You need to setup you controls in the config settings. In Winuae. 1. Open winuae 2. click on Game and I/O Ports tab 3. On Amiga Mouse Port 1 select PC Joystick 0 if you want to us your pad or stick. Select Keyboard layout B if you want to use the keyboard, right ctrl is fire and arrow keys to move. Right load game as before and when at title screen press fire. In winfellow 1. Open winfellow 2. Click configuration. 3. click on gameport tab 4. On Game Port 2 select Joystick 1 if you want to us your pad or stick. Select Keyboard layout 1 if you want to use the keyboard, right ctrl is fire and arrow keys to move. |
