A good fractal generator for the Amiga?

Hi, I'm looking for a decent Fractal app for the Amiga, preferably something that can create and save animations would be great, any suggestions would be appreciated.

website also talks about commercial fractal apps:

Contoura was my favorite one, I have it somewhere and I posted it on the zone years ago; sadly there's no mention of it on the internet

Thanks for the info emufan, I shall take a look at your suggestions. Hopefully one of them will be user friendly enough and with an option to save.

Hmmm, this look's interesting too...No mention of animation support though.

Also, anybody know the name of the kind of fractals that can be zoomed into infinitely?

Well I walked into that one. I ask this only because I downloaded a package on the PC called "ChaosPro" and although I can create a generated fractal It doesn't appear I can zoom into it infinitely? The last time I flirted with fractals was on the Atari ST using some coverdisk....

np folks. but the best for me at the moment, i did not mentioned: ChaosPro from aminet. also has some animation feature - you can save standard amiga iff anims too

windows version also available:
on first start you have to set screenmodes for 3 screens. onces started and screens too small, change in "Settings Screenmodes".

Edit: lordofchaos you already found chaospro win version, try the amiga version

Yep, cheers Emufan. I've just tried it on Amiga and I like what I see so far, in fact I prefer it to the PC, seems easier to work.

apart from the fact that they are from the same author, one thing they have in common - you still have to wait for the results. some things never change

@Frog: i only have winuae and using "as fast as possible - 1200 kick 3.1 wb 3.1 040" - and you can still see how the final image is rendered - host computer is a 3.2 ghz amd quad-core, win7.
this happend 20 years ago - slightly slower - but now its more or less the same.
i know its a question of how to setup the parameters - but I'm playing with the default parameters.
this goes for the windows app as well as for the amiga version of ChaosPro using winuae.

same thing I saw with lightwave. i rendered the bladerunner scene from videotoaster cd, blade.lws and offworld.lws , also benchmark raytrace.lws.
20 years ago, i was sitting infront of the screen, watching the pixels moving (030/882 28mhz) now you have to wait too. not hours - but 16 minutes for one picture is a lot

offtopic: while i also want a 060 expansion for my old 1200 - i think it will be too slow - we need something faster

about the fractal movie. if you want you can upload it to the eab fileserver (Public_User_Uploads). frensh is not my language, but pictures can tell a lot

very basic settings only, but does animation without problem. only supporting the mandelbrot set.
author is "olsen" who made the roadshow tcp/ip stack.

I used CP quite extensively back then with A4000/040/25. And the speed was okeyish. I remember that going like 15 or more iterations down was getting quite slow on the 040/25. Although the program for me is one of the best i used for Amiga till the mid 90's, really complete I used it extensively and liked it a lot. Fond memories of it.
