good question, didn't check that out. I did however notice that when I open a 32gb usbstick plugged in my deneb the windows actually says it's a 32gb one and not some strange amount anymore. So that's good.

The knowledge required to build the Kickstart 1.3 ROM may be lost. It's possible that some of the original Amiga/Commodore engineers might recall how it worked, but we haven't asked. All that remains are a set of large shell scripts which apparently used to run on SunOS, which use build tools and special Amiga hardware that is no longer available.
If I understand correctly how this worked, the Sun workstation was linked to the Amiga, and the build script would transmit the modules to it, where the Kickstart image was constructed in memory. That image could then also be tested directly on the Amiga. Anyway, even if the knowledge required to knit the Kickstart 1.3 modules into a working ROM image were recovered, there would still be the problem of how to compile the 'C' code. The compiler which was used back then no longer exists in this form. |

As far as I know, the change log files written by the engineers for the work which led to Kickstart/Workbench 1.3 are still around, but they do not go into great detail. Anything prior to the Kickstart/Workbench 1.2 appears to be lost, including the rationale for the title bar decoration change. |

The most useful thing would be a FastFileSystem using TD64 style, compatible with KS34 and 68000, to be set in the RDB. Toni Wilen already done it for PFS3 http://aminet.net/package/disk/misc/pfs3aio |

Maybe I missed this info but what is the expected timeframe of this 3.1.4 update?
And is it currently seen as a "one off" thing or (hopefully) - econmy permitting - a start to more regular updates (regular meaning something new every 2 years or so ;-) |

I agree that it would be useful, but it is currently beyond the scope of the 3.1.4 project work. We would first like to complete work on the Amiga 3.x operating system version which is likely to be the foundation for future 68k development. The Amiga 1.x operating system versions do not need the same kind of effort and care at the moment.
