Pins on the motherboard

i just got through disassembling an A500 with a rev 6a motherboard and noticed a couple things that looked odd.

1 of 34 pins reserved for the larger plug attached to internal floppy drive is missing. does this mean my motherboard is faulty? i assume each of these pins serves a particular role.

also, the same problem found with pins reserved for the keyboard connecting device. one of those is missing, as well.

my other, an A500 rev 5, motherboard has all pins intact.

Send a message via ICQ to Chain
its OK, there are actually only around 16 pins used, so if its cutted its probably not connected either

It's normal, only 7 lines on the keyboard connector actually do anything.

The Floppy disk connector is keyed. That is there is SUPPOSED to be a missing pin (pin 3) and a missing hole on the ribbon cable.

This is so you dont accidentally reverse the cable.

However it costs money to cut that pin and fill that hole and so over the years they stopped doing it to cut costs.
