cannon fodder whdload saves

Hi folks, I have cannon fodder whdload installed on a HDF with workbench 3.1 setup in winuae. my problem is with saving, only the first save has stuck, the rest keep disappearing. the strange thing is, i quit the game, quit winuae then started up again with my configuration and the save was there, but when i came back the next day only the first save was there again....
i thought HDFs should act like a HD and save any info, all the settings and games usually stay as they were
