Landscape generator

Hi all,

I really used to enjoy apps like Vista pro. However the speed of my stock A1200 restricted me somewhat.

Can anyone please give me a copy of Vista pro or similar app to try in WinUAE?

Uploaded 'Fractals'. The disk has R/W-errors but the program works.
It's a simple landscape-generator (ca. 1987, maybe 1986).
(edit: compared to Vista pro VERY simple. ;-)
Short info:
To the left there's the map-area. Define the height and the shape of the mountain or valley to create. Then click in the map-area once for the one corner and then elsewhere for the other. If you finished your map, click ok and the program forms the 3d-landscape. Play around with the items in the top menu.

Cheers, Rick

Sorry Rick, I have to disappoint you.
No R/W errors found on your disk. It's so sad.

Maybe next time

I wonder,
It does produce these R/W errors on both real A500/A2000 and in WinUAE.
I transfered the physical disk with ADF-Sender-Terminal and transwarp.

Maybe the download fixes the error?

Cheers, Rick

Well, I checked the disk from A to Z and found no errors.
When is the error supposed to happen?

Ooops, there must be a problem with my ADFs of Vista Pro. I'll try to find a good version.

After inserting the disk one dialog say 'Please insert vol. L in any drive', then it disappears and the 2 dialogs 'Volume has a read/write error' and 'use diskdoctor to correct it' appear. Clicking 'cancel' allows you to start 'Fractals'. Which Amiga do you use? (Real or emulated).

Cheers, Rick

emulated, A500 config, standard, no cycle-exact.
Can try it in my A1000 ... but if my tool finds no track errors - save from a file with length 0 - I can trust it.

"Please insert vol. L in any drive" means that the disk is not validated, i. e. the 78th (79th if you count from 1) long word in block 880 (root) is *not* FFFFFFFF.

Preferably yes, everything is too easy on the PC.
One of the big attractions for me in the Amiga was the satisfaction of seeing the results of a days graft. Nowadays it is instant gratification Google this Google that...

Sadly though I never had the time or patience to crank all the settings in Vista Pro to MAX and see the results....

I really want to see an Amiga (emulated or real) crunching those numbers again.

Admittedly alot faster than I could have dreamed on my stock A1200. (instant gratification? ?)
