Screen resolution greater than 640x400?
Is there a way to get fs-uae to run in say 1024x768 with OS3.1 on a mac? If i use the desktop settings in the OS it scrolls around rather than showing the whole thing on my much bigger native screen...

Default.fs-uae in your Documents/FS-UAE/configuration folder

Ok, that just does the same thing as resizing the window - if I then use the prefs setting to set say a 800x600 size it just scrolls around the window. I want to get it to display a 1024x768 or 800x600 without any scrolling around like that...

Put the Super72 monitor driver in DEVS:Monitors and reboot. You can then select 800×600 super72 super-high res laced.
Or set your Workbench to PAL super-high res laced (1280×512). You can use Overscan preferences to make that slightly larger. I'd recommend doubling the height of the emulation window if using that mode. If you install the HighGFX monitor driver you can do 1024×768. Finally (does FS-UAE support this?) you could use A2024 modes, 1024×1024 but only in four shades of grey. That's all the native chipset mode options I think. For larger screens you can install Picasso96 more much larger resolutions. 3840×2160 Workbench is possible there. |

Sounds to me what you want to do is enable a graphics card (uaegfx or Picasso IV) and then install the Picasso96 drivers to enable (for example) 1024x768 screen resolution in Workbench. Googling for picasso96 and uae should yield some useful information

My progress: The .lha archive for the picasso96 driver is corrupted. I tried using just the actual driver itself and enabling the graphics card emulation set to "picasso iv" but when I reboot and go into the display settings I don't see any new modes.
The Super72 lets me set a 800x600 setting, which is good enough, and the HD720 driver lets me set 1280x720 which is even better. But the problem with these is that they are obviously being scaled up and/or down as the text is hard to read and the icons are missing vertical lines etc. How do I get it to use a 1x1 layout, say for a 800x600 or 1280x720. Setting the 800x600 in the fs-uae settings for instance is distorted with using the Super72 driver... |

Here is what the 1280x720 looks like in a emulator with 800x600 resolution (first attachment) And the 1280x720 emulator size (second attachment). You can see they are blurry or distorted... Does the emulator size need to take into account borders or title area?

Awesome! That version worked great (once I reinstalled the "Installer" utility). Now I have a nice 1024x768 display that is crystal clear and not distorted at all. Thanks for your help!
