I have only one USB joystick (Competition Pro), but it has only a turbofire mode similar WinUAE's autofire mode. You have to press the button permanently, so this surround lighting doesn't work for me. A stick/pad with real autofire "should" work.

In WinUAE on the Input window you can select if a key/button has the autofire option set. So if you choose two buttons with 'Joy1 Fire' and set autofire only for one you have that effect

Good idea! But I'm using a regular Amiga joystick and even though it has two buttons, they're both the same (as was normal back then).

Yes, you need a stick/pad with separated buttons, like the Sega Mega Drive/Sega Master System pads. The Sega Competiton Pro Stick works too, iirc.

I think the 4 buttons on the CP USB are recognised by WinUAE as different buttons. One the other hand it's not so good for playing Turrican I have my PS2 alike pad set up for different games the way john suggested it several times and have to say that it really helps to increase the playability of some games

Sadly I can't use pads, my thumbs are broken (don't ask me how, I have no idea what the problem is.. but they're very inaccurate and weak... well, most of my fingers are which is the reason why I'd rather not keep pressing the fire button continuosly).

Yes, I would like to give a big cudos to Iaffer as well. A true enthusiast.

The threads gone a bit off topic... But I suppose I have my answer, so I'll have to try out both I guess, to find out which one I prefer.

I'm leaning towards playing the Megadrive version tho, since the save-states are a lot easier to handle in the Gens emulator.

I recommend Kega Fusion, this is the best Mega Drive emulator for Windows.

Gens+ is dead since a fews years and has still lot of emulation bugs. Gens32 or Kega Fusion, forget the rest.

Gens32 for me, but I wouldn't be so eager about the better sound, IIRC it's only in case of one game, that 3D (vector) racing game that came with the special sound-chip or something

I've read that Kega Fusion has the accuratest sound emulation. I'm too lazy for a comparison.

I liked T3 on Amiga - even 'cause it was more action-oriented than T1 or T2. I don't like to walk on big mazes, I like to shoot aliens. I think Megadrive version is better, but I voted for Amiga version as it was one of the last games I played on Amiga.

15:5 for Turrican 3, eh? Another "fanboy" voting win. OK, it's an Amiga board, hardly surprising.

Yup, it's quite pointless to ask these kind of things here (I still know that I also did it once with Gods ). However the points for Mega Turrican were quite clear and comparing the two for yourself is the best way no doubt

Open a similar tread on a Genesis board and see what will happen

This is even a worser vote, but i like these crap polls. Shows me, that some guys didn't played both versions, or they aren't Turrican fans and voted just for fun.
