WinUAE 2300 - update DirectX

I have DX9Aug installed and working supremely with PC demos and every single PC game.

Just curious, what in WinUAE 2300 requires an even newer version of DirectX?

Bit hesitant due to this, you see.

Will I forever hang in the hall of shame if I ask if I can omit updating and still make v2300 work, or choose a previous version of WinUAE which doesn't require updating?

Like any sane person, I only update when there is a problem or a need. Granted, the need for WinUAE is a great one but if there is a solution, let me know. Apart from tablet support I'm pretty much fine since 2.0 beta something.

Edit: okay, maybe it was a one-shot dialog popup (and browser opener thingy). Grasshopper will learn patience. (In other words, grasshopper will get back on this, probably no issue then.)

Toni just wants to make sure you're updating your stuff Is there any real reason why you don't want to install the update?

Other than that everything I throw at my expertly installed OS works perfectly? Can't think of any.

(Unless you meant updating WinUAE, which is > DirectX updates.)

Anyway, tested and the required update wasn't required, so the not-a-problem solved itself.

(Don't see a need for this thread, so admins may fire at will.)

I am using Win 7 32bit, I have the latest dx11 for it and I am getting the update message, which also automatically opens my browser to the download. WinUAE seems to work fine if I just skip the message.

Why am I getting this message? How can I remove this message and stop the browser from opening?

You DO NOT have latest DirectX redistributable. I guess I need to add even more annoying dialog.

I did try update, but it was giving me a non-descript error message. I checked my version number with the number on the direct x wiki and it seemed as if I had the latest version, hence the confusion.

Got the update working eventually and now the message is gone. Thanks.
