Yo. (Ho Ho)

Hello all. I bought an Amiga 500 today.

It's my first. My best mate had one when they were new. I was jealous. I had a Commodore Plus/4 followed by an ancient IBM PC/XT. My parents meant well...

In the late 90s in my first year at university I bought a secondhand Amiga 1500 (!) but weirdly I only really used it for word processing. I was on a Media course, and everybody else was buying new PCs and Macs... the Amiga felt pointlessly old, and I never properly explored it. With hindsight I probably should have kept it.

Plan #1 is to get a copy of Octamed and do some tracking. I'll be looking for a MIDI interface, too.

It came with some cool games, an external floppy drive and a RAM upgrade. Very grubby but seems to work fine! Nice to play Populous again, I had it on my old PC, but it's much better on the Amiga...

Will no doubt be asking lots of stoopid questions, but I'll leave it there for now.

Merry Xmas everybody

You're not wrong!

Just played a bit of Shadow of the Beast II... Intro sequence and music are blowing my mind. I'm quite confused about just how amazing these machines still are...
