I still have problems with the CyberstormPPC ROM in 2.5.16 - here are options from my config file:

Code:
base_dir   = /mnt/misc/users/roman/Retro/Commodore Amiga/Emulator/FS-UAE

cdroms_dir      = /mnt/misc/users/roman/Retro/Commodore Amiga/OpticalDisks
floppies_dir    = /mnt/misc/users/roman/Retro/Commodore Amiga/FloppyDisks
hard_drives_dir = /mnt/misc/users/roman/Retro/Commodore Amiga/HardDrives
kickstarts_dir  = /mnt/misc/users/roman/Retro/Commodore Amiga/ROMs

amiga_model = A4000/PPC

kickstart_file        = amiga-os-310.rom
And it makes FS-UAE complain about CSPPC ROM file required (see logs). What's more interesting, adding this line:

Code:
uae_cpuboard_rom_file = /mnt/misc/users/roman/Retro/Commodore Amiga/ROMs/cyberstormppc.rom
solves the problem...

I'll fix this for the next dev release (https://github.com/FrodeSolheim/fs-uae/issues/34)

If link on the page to a file does not work, mirror AKsack.wav

Not really. QEMU is only used for the actual PPC CPU emulation, nothing more. Well, probably slirp too soon. Other than this, there's no plan to use QEMU for anything else.

The 2.5.17dev indeed fixes the CSPPC ROM loading (also I was now able to install the system on host directory emulating the harddrive) - thank you!

I have installed WarpOS 5.1 and tried the LHA from Aminet - it works, but it is much slower than the m68k version (the QEMU plugin is loaded, and I don't use JIT for m68k - I have a 64-bit compilation). Is it normal?

Could be, I'm not sure. The m68k version probably runs very quickly in FS-UAE anyway (fastest-possible-mode CPU) even without JIT. And the WarpOS version of LHA version might be slowed down quite a bit due to context switching in order to interface with AmigaOS (it probably needs to do some kind of context swiching in order to read/write files? I don't really know much about how WarpOS works, so I am merely guessing...)

FS-UAE whinges about a missing cyberstormppc.rom file, but the same file is sitting right there in my roms folder. Rescanning the folders did not work.

Okay, Frode. I copied the file to /Documents/FS-UAE/Kickstarts and it worked.

However, the scan dialog box tells the program to look for everything in:

/Users/glennpetrie/Documents/FS-UAE
/Games/Emulators/Amiga
/Games/Emulators/Amiga/Configurations
/Games/Emulators/Amiga/ROMs
/Users/glennpetrie/Documents/FS-UAE/Configurations

The bold text indicates the folder in which I want the program to look for the main files, but FS-UAE ignores this. So it's Documents/FS-UAE or nowhere.

Probably so. Yes, the LHA is already very fast, I was surprised the PPC version is much slower. But today I have tried the WarpJPEG datatype and here the PPC version is clearly much faster than the 68060 one (I guess I have one more piece of Amiga software to register )

Correct, as documented in the initial PPC support thread post:

Where do I exactly put the QEMU plugins so that FS-UAE can read them? Isn't this the same folder that FS-UAE is in. These are the same plugins that I downloaded for WinUAE.

Better download the plugin specific for FS-UAE: http://fs-uae.net/plugins (instructions on where to put it is also given on the page)

During the Update process of AmigaOS 4.1 the system reboots after each update (if I tick on this option). In this reboot process the system freezes. I must restart FS-UAE in this case.

Anyone else seen this issue?

There is also a Early Startup Menu for AmigaOS 4. Simply klick both mouse buttons like for 68k OS after loading PPC kickstart. In this Boot Menu you'll see the PPC speed :-)

But also here: FS-UAE have a reboot problem after clicking "Boot"...

Hmm.. I cannot really reproduce the reboot issue (neither with the dev or slirp version). Perhaps the problem only occurs when e.g. a CD is present, or depends on some other condition?

Maybe related to "my" reboot problem ?

I need to setup a quick config/setup to reproduce easily the prob..

Reboot work every time if I use the option in FS-UAE GUI. But mostly not, with A + A + Ctrl or software reboots.
