Looking to tool up my workbench

My Amiga 600 accelerator should be here soon and I have a 4gig HDD to try and fill up with stuff. I have just put over 100 Whdload games on it but I am looking for good productivity tools to put on it. Stuff like Word processors, interesting and useful tools, IRC and a web browser so I can get onto things like Aminet.

Basically I want to make my Amiga into not only a gaming machine but a good alround machine. Something I can use quite comfortably to do day to day stuff on and then use my PC for everything else.

I am using the Classic WB 68k package which is upgraded to 3.1.

With the ACA630, if you have OS3.9, you can use that and have classic WB 3.9.

Don't have 3.9 and didn't think the 600 would be able to handle it. I have ordered the ACA630 from amigakit. To be honest I am pretty happy with Classic 68kb but I may consider upgrading to 3.9 once I get round to saving up for a refurbed 1200

The full on ClassicWB is pretty tooled up already.
You could try AmigaSYS4 too.

What I normally do, is test a few setups in WinUAE, with the config of my current A600 setup.

Hi CritAnime - I'm doing a similar thing with one of my A600s. I've got a nicely retr0brited affair that has a 4Gb CF just waiting to go in.

As well as the totally necessary WHDLoad (which will be registered) I intend on adding the following:

Final Writer <- Good for most WP stuff
Octamed <- Possibly v4 as Pro might be too much
Protracker <- For the bits I can't do in Octamed
Imagine <- I've got v4, but may wait for an ACA630
DPaint <- I've still got V3 and love it!
Blitz Basic <- And why not?
Videoscape 3D <- It was regarded as a joke, but I love it
C Compiler <- Not sure which one yet
SDL Lib <- For the C compiler (natch)

As for other system-type things, I'll most likely add:
Hippo Player
Deli Tracker
Viewtek
Visage
Anim <- Yeah, I know. But it's great with VS3D!

The rest will be a voyage of discovery and whatever mood I'm in. If I'm not careful it'll overtake my A1200T-040/25-160PPC as my main Miggy...

Back in the day I used Final Copy IIB for Word processing.. much like a cut down version of 'Final Writer'.
