Question Where to find WHDload/JST games

I already have more adfs than I'll ever need but now I'm using a real Amiga and I'd like to keep floppy usage at minimum. I encounter some WHDLoad and JST games scattered along the net from time to time but I haven't seen a big source for them.

WHDLoad installers don't work with cracked versions of games and I have nearly no originals at all so I have to find pre-installed games. Does anyone know a good http/ftp site?

Thanks in advance.

If you find the CD32 installed version fo Lotus2 you can just remove Lotus 1 and 3 from it and you have a Lotus2 working fully from harddisk.

Smile WHDLoad games

Most of the games I have patched will work with cracked versions and almost all of the Rob Northen copylocked games will also work. So grab installers for those from the WHDLoad site and try them.

Yes, the Amiga community needs a good archive of HD-installed games. Spokyz is useless because it is not possible to get access to it. Even for registered WHDLoad users like myself. Even when I have stuff to upload for him. What a wanker.

Personally I don't have problems with JST, the compatibility of it seems just as good or better than WHDLoad for most games.

Spoky (is that his name?) is a wanker. Banning broadband users? Where's the logic there? And if his is the site that requires you to up your WHD key, well then there's another strike against him. My key is for me only. Any hack can put up an ftp site.

But as for your comment about JST, surely you are hallucinating! Just as good? Not quite. Or better? You must be on crack... (no offense)

@Codetapper
After trying a few installers without any luck, I gave up but if yours work with cracked games then I'll go for them

Well, you can rely on Codetapper's infos. You can say he's so kind to support cracked games.
HOWEVER, there are actually some WHD-fixers I know that DO NOT support cracked games by intention. To name one that comes to my mind: Keith Krellwitz aka Abaddon.

Post Supporting cracked games

I think the main reason a lot of the WHDLoad team don't support cracks is so they don't get bug reports from possibly hacked to bits versions. For example, I know the Oracle crack of Operation Thunderbolt has a broken disk 2. If you get to levels 4 or 6, the game crashes.

Also when a game has been crunched down to a single file and intro pics etc removed, a lot of the team can't be bothered to support that kind of version.

Abaddon has actually patched a lot of games which have RNC protection so all of those ones should work without problems. Some names off the top of my head are Xybots, Lethal Weapon (although I updated it, it did originally work with the crack!), Klax, Strider 2, Cool World, Vindicators, Carvup etc - they should all work

From my list, here are a few which will work with "altered" versions:

5th Gear
Addams Family
Armageddon Man (Il Scruo/Defjam)
Arnie 2
Batman Returns
Bignose the Caveman
Bubble Gun
Bug Bash
Buggy Boy
Chip's Challenge
Clik Clak
Crazy Seasons
Dynamite Dux
E-Motion
Empire Soccer
ET's Rugby League
Fly Harder
Gear Works
Halley Project
Helter Skelter
Hydra
Ice Runner
Joe Blade
Joe Blade 2 (if you can find my beta install!)
Lethal Weapon
Licence to Kill
Loopz (Skid Row)
Major Motion
Mortal Kombat 2 (Prestige)
Neighbours
Nucleus
Obsession
Operation Thunderbolt (Note: Oracle disk 2 is broken levels 4+6!)
Operation Wolf
Pacmania
Pipemania
Powerdrive
Puffy's Saga (Quartex)
Quest of Agravain
Rolling Ronny
Rugby: The World Cup
Run the Gauntlet
Screaming Wings (Il Scuro/Defjam)
Seek'n'Destroy (Classic)
Spy Vs Spy 1, 2 and 3
Starglider
Stargoose
Stunt Car Racer
Summer Camp
Switchblade (IDE)
Terry's Big Adventure
The Deep
Tommy Gun
Top Cat (ACU)
Treasure Island Dizzy
Vaxine
Viz (Crystal version - maybe need to rename some of the files)
Warzone (any)
Weird Dreams
Wembley Rugby League
Wild Cup Soccer (Paradox)
Wonderboy in Monsterland
World Champ Boxing Manager
World Championship Soccer
World Class Rugby
World Class Rugby: 5 Nations Edition
World Class Rugby '95
WWF Wrestlemania
Zyconix

Plus any ADF crack I have released will also work. So there are plenty for you to play until you find/buy the originals. Generally you just need to rename the file as Disk.1 or copy the main file in. Use Snoopdos to see what the filename it expects is. And don't forget to register WHDLoad though!

Saw CT released Hacker II whdload install - GREAT ! Tried it with two cracked versions of Hacker II and WinUAE and it didn't work (might be the UAE's fault though). Just displays black screen.
