I didn't test "preview version 2" but in "preview version 1" I made it into the reactor room without any code problems.
Played on real hardware 1200/030/40mhz. |

Had a quick go, and didnt get that far but after destroying the first base in plenty of time went back to the overview to be informed that Chicago was destroyed with a white flash and then carried on fine? I think I may have had this with an earlier version as well. Anyone else seen this? Haven't had time to try and reproduce it.

This morning I played at beginner level and I finished the game:
Both sound and gfx were ok, I couldn't hear anything wrong with them, but after having destroyed the second launch site I was informed that "Washington D.C.", "Montreal", "New York", "Atlanta", "Denver" and "Miami" were destroyed. Honestly I don't know if I did finish the time when I was fighting against the turrets, I destroyed all of them, not only the main turret so maybe it took more time and the enemy destroyed my sites... I don't know. After that, even if I only had two cities left I was able to complete the game (I still had lots of lives). After that I also played at suicidal level and I found that much more fun! Unfortunately I died when approaching to Moscow but I'll retry soon. Anyway... this game is GREAT, thanks guys!!! |

Ah, crap. Tsak reported that issue to me earlier but I've never been able to duplicate it, infact for Preview 2 I changed a few things to try and make something like that less likely. I guess it didn't quite work.. I'll try some more things for the next update. Sorry to hear that :/ I'm not totally sure what could be causing that but I'll do some investigation. |

Right, I could not replicate my earlier comment again, but tried 2b on my wedge amiga running off 3.1.4.1
It ran fine both from df0 and from workbench on all three skill settings, although I just checked I could get into the hanger. However whilst checking this I realised the sound issues with my tower are not resolved. On my wedge amiga I get the full and funky soundtrack. On my tower I only seem to get part. As I haven't used this on my wedge much I didnt realise. To explain, when playing on my basic amiga, the backing music starts as soon as entering the hanger. On my tower it's only the bit that starts when you reach the craft that gets played, so only half the soundtrack. You only get footstep sounds till you reach the craft. Could this be a setting on my tower re mono and stereo? Haven't noticed it before with any other games. |

If it was booted without Startup-Sequence or better from Disk/ADF wouldn't it bypass any any Sound card or maybe just a simple Assign Libs: "" etc
Maybe if anyone could be arsed remove there sound card and test. |

Had another go and yes the issue is with my setup, sorry.
If I run it on my tower then I get the missing track as above, if I remove the soundcard from the mix and run paula straight to speakers instead of via the line in on the soundcard, I get it all. So it's either a setting on my soundcard or a dodgy cable. D'oh. Sadly I wont get much more chance to look at this till the weekend as I am back at work in the morning. Ok, my sound is all sorted now. Would you believe it, it was just the cable to the line in on the soundcard that was losing one channel. Cable swapped out and now it works great.
Not sure what else you are thinking of adding as the game seems great to me! Thank you again for this, it's fantastic to play this on the amiga. |
