Maybe ishar has checksums too. These days with Stingray we have discovered that some games that were thought to be properly cracked still had them operating !

@CFOU : about Ishar 2 AGA, the problem is there on real A1200 or winuae, whdload or normal play via the game disks whatever the language it is.

It is a serious game program bug. For instance, it locks completely the game, (but you can exit via F10 in whdload).

Please look here for more informations and files :

perhaps a file is corrupt have you see which file is loaded in last time (via filelog)?

have you try without whdload=>perhaps an exit debug message is displayeds in CLI (you can't see it on whdload WB screen is black or you must patch WB copperlist)

i am not enough time for that but problem is interesting to fix, i'll looks that in june

I'm quite sure there aren't any checksums as the protection, due to its interpreted nature, is hard enough to crack properly so no checksums needed.

if a file is corrupted, impossible to know it. because inside or outside whdload the problem occurs in the very same way. the problem is at first a pb in the program, before being a problem with the slave.

Filelog ? how can i use it, is it part of whdload ?

it's possible because all datas are crunched...

if file is damaghed, it's cause decunch crash

so i can do 'pause' before file is decrunched... and looks problem

it's for that i must know last loaded file....

or i can to try to decrunch file by hand using decrunch code (more simple) and looks if there are visible problem... if file is corrupt perhaps can be restaured using ECS version... or re-bluilt if it's GFX datas...

ps: you can use filelog tooltype http://whdload.de/docs/en/opt.html#FileLog
ps2: i had some year ago rebuilt missing data of Indigo using ST version (file structure was different) so all is possible

[quote=dlfrsilver;875634]the ECS version doesn't seem to have a problem. But on my AGA multilingual version, i trigger easily the password protection.

can you upload savegame in a zone before manual protection request?

i have tried as i did, and i have not yet been able to trigger it. The only thing i remember was that you need to cross a bridge over the water and you find it by going East from the start point, and once on the other side, the password protection triggers.....

I was sent a mantis warning from the whdload site about an update of the report I sent on 2011 and forgot about!
I found me too the password check at the bridge, but also:

Quote:
2) the game is possible to be saved only randomly, for instance at the start of
the game, but not afterward; in Rhudgast, for instance, trying to save the game
always resulted in the game freezing indefinitely on the word "patience": I left
the game there fore half an hour with no changes.
The emulation in both cases was still working, just the game frozen; yet it was
still possible to close the game with the quitkey.
I was meaning to ask, that second part too has been solved?

I always used new savegames, and I was on winuae. Since then I changed OS though, when I'll have a bit of time I'll try the new install and test that too, in the while, thank you for solving the passwords things!

with whdload's you can create a filelog.
read it
http://whdload.de/docs/en/opt.html#FileLog

can you try with new slave v1.4 and filelog tooltype ?

if game freeze, just exit and sent to me filelog (save in dump files path)

path can be definited in 'S:WHDLoad.prefs".

i have met the same thing : you just need to wait for patience to be removed from screen.
It's annoying but it works on my real A1230.

Good that Marcuz found the protection triggering

indeed went you create new savegame file there a many os swap...

i think if really an freeze and no long delay, it's will be cause by particular WB configuration or winuae option as 'Fastest' or 'Jit' which cause trouble during os swap

It's probable that I have, I usually have it on, in that setup.

However, I'll try and let you know how it goes, as soon as I have time, hopefully the next weekend.

Thanks again!
