WHDLoad question
Hello,
for my Amiga games-collection I want to set up a quickload for WHDLoad preinstalled games in WinUAE. I know that this is not implemented here like in FS-UAE, but I want to use WinUAE because of its more detailed configuration and the easier way of loading its config files from my Launchbox frontend. To start a WHDLoad game I'm usually configure two drives in WinUAE, the first with a ClassicWB and a second with an hdf-file or a mounted folder in which the game data is stored. Then I boot the ClassicWB and start the game manually from its desktop. But that’s a bit inconvenient for me. Is there a way to configure an autostart for the game.hdf so the game starts immediately after booting the ClassicWB? Or is it possible to make the hdf self-bootable? Thank you for your replies. Not really a support.WinUAE issue...
...but a quick answer to your question. Let's say you have the game Aladdin on DH1: in the directory "Aladdin". In "S/Startup-Sequence" or "S/User-Startup" file and type in: Code:
CD DH1: CD Aladdin WHDLoad Aladdin.slave Preload |

Only issue is; how are you going to handle multiple different games on individual .HDFs or mounted folders?
Thinking about it some more, you could have just the 1 x ClassicWB .HDF that you use for all games; in which you could enter something like the following in either "S/Startup-Sequence" or "S/User-Startup": Code:
DH1:Start Code:
CD DH1:Aladdin WHDLoad Aladdin.slave Preload |

Many thanks for your fast reply DamienD
I will test this tomorrow. I think this should be the cleanest and easiest way to load many different games. Greetings, Condor-2-4-2 |

Hi,
I haven't got around to finishing it completely, but you might be interested in my WHDLoad Game Launcher solution: https://github.com/solarmon/WHDLoad-Game-Launcher |
