Deluxe Paint 5.0 to 5.2 patch?

Hiya

Does anyone know if EA replaced the 5.0 to 5.2 patch for DPaint?

I can't find anything on Aminet or The Zone, or even Googling.

I've just received the disk based DPaint V boxed etc but I noticed it's the 5.0 version.

To my knowledge the 5.0 was the last official version released, and the 5.2 was just a hack by someone else.

I once e-mailed Dallas Hodgson about it, and he said the 5.0 was the last version he worked on and that he knew nothing about the supposed 5.2. He recommended I contacted Lee Özer because she might know more about it, but she never replied back.

There's a bigger thread about it somwhere here on the EAB.

Thanks that is very helpful, I didn't find that thread I'll try to track it down. I had no idea 5.2 was a hack, although I have noticed pretty much all the online derived copies are registered to an Ian Cogings or something like that

Thankfully the copy I bought did have a serial number and i have registered it and it all works, I was just aware from experience that DPaint V is a little bit more crash prone than DPaint III and IV (which basically never crash) and I was concerned 5.0 vs. 5.2 would be even more so.
