Great stuff! Very fond memories indeed and a tough game for it's time. The intro music "amazed" me for starters. As for it's sequel, Jet Set Willy, I've never been able to complete it without, *cough*, cheating, and not known any of my friends to do the same either.

Amiga Manic Miner was... how shall we say it... CRAP

Not to mention the HOL information about it is almost certainly wrong

I was sure it was programmed by Shahid Ahmad but dates and names blur when you get into your 30's

alexh:

If you look at the scan of the back of the box on HOL it clearly says "Amiga translation by Steve McMaster"

watched the beginning, but i'm reluctant to watch anymore! good link though.

i can get to skylab landing bay with no problems these days, and often past the next couple of levels but i'm still yet to complete it....

i'd love to see a couple of the screens for JSW though... i can never work out that damn nightmare room!

You need a Spectrum emulator that can play back .rzx files. Then go to the .rzx archive and download Jet Set Willy, load it up in the emulator and sit back with some tea and hob-nobs (or whatever they are called now :-).

http://www.rzxarchive.co.uk/

There's also a link to a video of the walkthrough. Nnightmare room is around 35:40.

*yawn*

while running the game... break then type

poke 230099,1 for infinate lives then type continue.

when the game continues press the following numbers in sequence

6,0,3,1,7,6,9

now that you have done that you can press any combination of number keys to get to that level....
