Hi!
Hi, new user here from the USA. Not new to the Amiga, as I had one originally back in the late 1980s and into the mid 1990s, but, am recently rejoining the Amiga community out of nostalgia with a purchase of an A500 like the one I used to have (and regret selling).
Also, a question: Has anyone tried this particular eBay scandoubler? 15Khz RGB RGsB RGBS to VGA Scan Line Doubler Converter: http://www.ebay.com/itm/15Khz-RGB-RG...3D251196334841 If so, what's been your experience with it? I bought one, but, my vga monitor has all sorts of vertical bands on it when using it with my Amiga 500. Otherwise, it works OK. Is there a fix for this, or, is it just a piece of junk? Other things plugged directly into the monitor (modern computers) don't have this effect, nor, does the Amiga do this when using component video only on the same monitor. welcome to EAB.
cannot say much about the video converter. some moons ago, there were such postings about a GBS-8220 converter, cheap but comes without case and some soldering you have to do (cable to amiga video port). over at amibay there was a long discussion about the device. another posting here on eab with some soldering hints and pictures. perhaps you find some generic hints for your device as well. |
