Mega c65 remake status

The news on the official site flow slowly...
http://www.m-e-g-a.org/
Any other news?

Not sure how they intend to solve the c65 case problem...

Also.. as the real c65 was a rare prototype, how did they create the cases for those low numbers of prototypes anyway?
They didn't create actual (expensive) plastic injection molds at that stage, did they? Or was the c65 cancelled unusually late in the process?

I thought I read that they reverse engineered it- some cases were stated as having being made? My memory is fuzzy but I'm sure I read it on the site you linked or a related interview with the creator.

I think Commodore just used cheaper molding technologies for prototypes. And cheaper plastics.

Its a theory.. but look at the few crazy expensive ones sold on eBay. They seem to be in fine condition. No apparent yellowing, the case doesn't look worse than a production unit...
If anything, they seem to have aged better than most A500 of equal age.

I know that certain Amiga prototypes were made in black plastic since it didn't matter what colour the plastic was made in.
