The Chaos Engine, all 6 characters onscreen

I'd love to see a version of The Chaos Engine with its capabilities pushed further, so that a lot more could be shown on screen, including having all six characters in your party at once. Of course, you'd need a lot more enemies to keep it challenging!
I finally put my Photoshop skills to good use by comping this panorama to show what that might look like.

The thing is, the gameplay isn't really set up for that many players. One to two is the sweet spot, three is pushing it, but with more you'd need much more enemies and also the area that cn be seen becomes too small.

I think it would make an excellent action RPG, along the lines of Jade Empire, or Knights of the Old Republic.
Obviously quite different from the original shoot em up, but with lots of potential for exploring the rich world the Bitmaps created through the addition of NPCs and side missions.

The game wasn't supposed initially to go up to 3 players at the same time ?

It was, and that idea was probably canned for more than one good reason.
