Monitor that supports Commodore AND Apple //e?

EDIT: FOUND! Commodore 1084S-P2

Original thread:

Does anyone know if the Commodore 1702 will also work with the Apple IIe, or if any Apple IIe monitor will support the Amiga and C64?

Basically I want one monitor for those 3 computers

Anyone know if it works the other way around, I.e. can you connect a C64 and/or Amiga to an Apple //e Composite Color Monitor?

Yes, but why would you ruin your life with a composite signal, when the C-64 outputs glorious S-Video and the Amiga outputs glorious RGB?

Good point! What I'm trying to find is ONE monitor for all my retro computing needs. So I want the ideal monitor for the two Commodore machines (S-Video/RGB), that also has a "Green" switch to emulate the old monochrome Apple monitor I had as a child, for the //e feed.

Any insight welcomed!

Didn't you ask this before. The 1084-P1 has a green switch and can take s-video, rgb and composite.

Thanks! I did ask before about green but you made me realize I should've asked about RGB and S-Video too. Perfect answer. Now I just need to find one in the USA...

Is this also known as the regular "1084S", without necessarily the P1 suffix?

That's a difficult question to answer.. There are several different 1084Ses, made by different companies and at different times. The one that is sure to have the green switch is the Philips/Magnavox made 1084S-P1. The Daewoo made 1084-D1 and 1084-D2 share the same case, but I don't remember now whether they had the green switch or not.

Thus I would insist on checking the type plate on the rear of the case to see that it has 1084S-P1, especially if you're buying it online without seeing it.

The Philips 8833-II that this monitor is based on does not support S-Video, only composite/rgb, although the circuit board has provisions for the components. The 1084 variant is not rare by any means, so just try to find a 1084.. :-)

That's a great help. I have eBay and Craigslist searches set up now. Thank you.

A bit of google image search seems to suggest that the D1 model also has the green switch.
