Auto-saving VincEd command-line history on OS3.9

Hello,
I use Shell very often and really miss Auto- saved commandline history, similar to Linux etc.
I know saving in ViNCEd could be made by selecting the save/load commandline history from the menu bar, but found no way of automating the saving with settings(?!).
I got the idea of some kind of Arexx script doing that, but never got into Arexx programming seriously.
Maybe someone would give me help and some directions with that ?
I' m sure I'm not the only one needing some kind of automation on the command line use..
