CDTV CPU relocation riser/adapter.
After months of running my CDTV "cabriolet" I would like to close it up. I am looking for a riser/adapter to move the vampire card, I know kipper2k made one at some point (http://www.kipper2k.com/newbits.jpg) so I wonder if those, or their gerber files are to be found anywhere, or if I should just draw some myself

No, it will not, the lower left corner will be in the way of various caps etc. But what was that adapter made for, to be so similar?

It might fit, a little unsure. Do you have 1:1 PDF silhouette or something that I can print, cut out and check with?
EDIT: I wanted to check the CDTV more closely when coming home from work yesterday, but I forgot - will try again today. Last edited by kolla; 24 May 2018 at 13:06. |

Yes. I got mail that they expect to send them the 5th of June, so hopefully I have them before the 15th of June, as I will be gone for a month from that date

Well, the month went by... I have the boards, and the sockets, but damn if I can find "legs" that fit. I have some 2.54mm pitch pin rows, but the pins are much too thick (and square). What is the name of such "CPU legs" that fit the CPU socket, such as used on f.ex. the Vampire V500 boards?

Got headers and pins today and assembled it all and... feeling a little daft for not having "test located" the Vampire first
It is still too close to the caps (that light blue one big one), the accelerator socket should rather be 3/4 "socket width" lower than motherboard socket, than just 1/2 "socket width" lower. But in any case, using the current pins and sockets, the whole thing is still too high, so I am pondering on removing the socket on adapter and pins on the Vampire, and solder the adapter permanently to the Vampire using just pins. But, need an adjusted adapter that fits first. Meh |

@kolla
Did you test Vampire with your CDTV? How does it work? |

I did something similar with my CDTV with the V500 and the case closes just fine. Difference was that I used pin strips for it. Pin strips from the top for the 68k socket and then more pin strips for the socket on the adapter for the V500, instead of a socket. That extra few mm was what made the difference. Also I replaced the IDE with a right angle one. I used the old kipper A500 relocator flipped upside down. There was one cap I had to move to the bottom of the board.
