Cant select characters in hired guns!

hi guys, i've been trying to get hired guns to work, i get to the character selection screen but i am unable to select any character other than the first one. it seems like it wont scroll across to choose any other characters, no matter which button i press. please let me know how i can make this game work as this is the number 1 game i used to play as a kid. any ideas?

You move through the characters' selection using arrows and ENTER. There is nothing more in it. Maybe you have chosen somewhat 2 or more players mode so maybe you need to move the selector using joystick or mouse?

thats just the point - it seems my arrows are locked out of the game at that point. even changing it to mouse only control desnt seem to shift the cursor to the other characters. this happens in UAE and fellow with a varity of bioses and control setups.

has anyone else had this problem? can it be fixed?

Could almost be only one thing, wrong control setup... like in WinUAE; you have "Keyboard Layout" A-C. Set B in Port 1 and use the cursor keys and right CTRL. That's the basic setup for most games.

I have a feeling that if Ironclaws solution doesn`t work then it just might be keyboard setting related. I am unsure how Korean keyboards are mapped but this may be a problem.

thanks for the help guys. i checked all the keyboard settings and i am sure i'm using the right ones. it must be my korean keyboard - just its strange that the arrow keys work fine for other games. i think i will invest in a gamepad over the weekend to be sure - i need to play this game!

Was thinking of that as my first post also, but didn't say anything because if he can't select character, he probably can't steer right in the game. Well, if I remember correctly, you can play with the mouse AND the keys to navigate... but still, his controlls, even the mouse doesn't work...

Well.... maybe worth a try?.

Playing some games on WinUAE arrows do not work. Try arrows from numeric keypad. Maybe it will help.
