That doesn't look too difficult. Did he just solder two additional chips on the top of the original ones and added extra wires?
@keropi There are not exactly common like the A500 ones. And cost more. |

@ all
I asked for and got an English translation later in the thread, just beware that the CAS and RAS connections vary on the different revisions of boards. If I can figure this out from the schematics I will post the connections later, as the photos in the thread aren't that good. Edit: Pins 28 (Cas low) and 29 (CAS High) on the chips link to pins 35 (Cas Low) and 36 (Cas High) on the trapdoor connector - I presume that the original author has buzzed back from these trapdoor pins with a multimeter to find convenient points to solder to. Zetr0, have you any comments about the connections? Merlin Last edited by Merlin; 05 February 2008 at 23:01. |

.... And cheapo's rush in where angels fear to tread, eh, Zetr0?
I hack for the challenge, the cheapness is (sometimes, but not always) a bonus!! @ AK No offence intended, but 30 sheets versus almost zilch for some chips ripped from an obsolete video card, it's a bit of a no-brainer really if you are up to the challenge. Hack The Planet!!! Merlin |

OK, I have deciphered the German thread (it helps when you can speak and read German).
You "piggy back" the chips and connect all pins through except for pins 11,12,15, 28, 29 and 30. Attach some wires to pins 28 and 29 of each chip before soldering the chips into place. Pins 28 and 29 are CAS high and low and these are the ones that have the wires coming from them. The wires from pin 28 of the new chips are connected together, the wires from pin 29 from the new chips are also connected together. On the board shown in the thread (v1.5 I think which is the same as my board), these joined sets of wires connect to resistors R152F and R152H, which if I am correct will link to pins 35 (CAS Low) and 36 (CAS High) on the trapdoor connector. If you can't buzz this out with a multimeter, there are only two possible combinations..... Edit: Pin 28 connects to R152F, Pin 29 connects to R152H (I have just checked the A600 schematics).
