Play 16
I'm now the very lucky owner of a Prelude soundcard for my Amiga 4000.
That sound is just great. My Amiga is original with 030@25MHz This is not enough to run AHI at anything hear CD quality, 44.1KHz With Play 16 that is not a problem since it use some Prelude hardware tricks so I can play uncompressed files at full quality without much CPU load. The problem is that Play 16 does not have a GUI so it is a little uncomfortable to use. I tried one program that can use Play 16 but it does not have the option to use the Prelude direct. Only through AHI. To use Play16, Prelude hardware setting it is done from Play16, icon-tooltype. My questions is if there is any player that would do what I want. Use Play16 but at the same time read the tooltype for the hardware driver. Thanks in advance. Last edited by nikosidis; 10 December 2022 at 11:43. |

Which AHI version are you using? There is an older which is way faster, compared to the most recent.

I know, but it is still to slow for CD quality playback on 030@25 in HiFi modes. When using Octamed Soundstudio it is fast as the Prelude soundcard use the Toccata emulation or Toccata dummy library. That is up to around 10 channels. No, AHI. |

Maybe http://aminet.net/package/mus/play/PrlTapedeck is worth trying.

GUI for commands like Play16:
http://aminet.net/package/util/sys/Argue http://aminet.net/package/util/cli/r Play16 is a command line tool. So you can add it to any file manager or any other GUI frontends that are able to run commands. |

Yes, I can try that. I tried the Argue, examples but I get "failed to create application" ? I understand that some of the examples I do not have the program but some I have and I get the same message. Last edited by nikosidis; 10 December 2022 at 15:42. |

Then try R. It is easier to use but has no config possibility as far as I can remember.
