No helps here? I'm thinking about keep the game as it is, and do more improvments to second chapter which will be for Aga on 640*512. Work to do isn't so much: 2 sets of gfx, players gfx, font, and gfx for menu

Release Story mode demo, where you can coiche rope swing angle base upon gravity level and wind. By using left and right joy, and with fire you'll release rope.
All obstacles have a spot in their center. In the final game, if you'll hit it you'll get Some sort of bonus. File in the Zone!: PaperSwingStory.adf Enjoy Last edited by sandruzzo; 19 March 2020 at 10:11. |

Nice @Pyromania and @Sandruzzo always great to see collaborations like this.
A quick update, we have a nice little team now with two other pixel artists. Looking forward to posting some updates soon. For the moment here is a teaser of the background and midground layers. The game is OCS by the way so we are using duel playfield (8 colours background and 8 colours foreground). Palette for player shared with foreground. We will be using a few copper tricks on this one and in the image attached is the before look (pre copper) using "Tiled" Map Editor. The hardware sprite is being used for the "Mountain" and "Water" area with copper changes for those and the sky effect. A few other tricks we are adding and currently discussing... but will share that later once we have some demo |

This is looking great and will be great fun I think. If you need beta tester I'm here. I have A500, A600 with Furia and A1200 with Blizzard IV.

I always love using Amiga software when possible and this is one good reason. OCS colour palette, that is 4096 colours and in 256 colour mode so i can see all the colour changes accurately for the copper effect ?. The idea here is to have a green colouring at top, go to blue tints and then desaturation at the bottom. Got to love the Amiga, eat your heart out Promotion and other modern tools ?
I've added the extra palette screenshot that shows the OCS (16 colour values) not 256 (AGA). Who would of thought such old software can pull out new tricks for today's game development. I'll document more detailed process on my blog soon (using Photoshop, Pixaki, Brilliance II, and Grafx2) "The OCS playfield is 8 colours but I am changing the copper every 16 (h) pixels" |

Hi Everyone,
A quick update. it's always nice when you have a plan and you see the results in the demo. Player character to be replaced.... Copper background implemented (to be tweaked further), background hardware sprite for Mountain, water and grass. Further tweaking will have snow on mountain soon. The main challenge was to copperise the midground in greens, blues and greys towards bottom. Oh and two layers of clouds (more copper changes) OCS game Score hud yet to be designed. |

We still need to coopperize the bottom of the screen, so more colors are coming!

Who needs AGA Looking great!
Only small thing I noticed is that the skies maybe could be more solid. Not so much dithering? Last edited by nikosidis; 31 March 2021 at 15:12. |
