Need help in Ambermoon

Hey guys I'm kinda stuck in Ambermoon and am hoping someone can give me a hint. I'm currently at a point where I need to check out the some temple on an island east of Newlake but it's impossible to swim to it and there is no boat on the lake. I also need to kill the snake goddess but I don't have a key to her lair, I guess I need to activate the windgates or something but I suspect the altar, which I need to create the activation rod, is on the island with all the gates but it's surrounded by impassable waters. I have the necklace and the 12 pearls but just have to get to the altar.

Ok I've figured it out (duh) I had to fly on my broomstick, which is exactly what I thought it was for but it didn't work the first time I tried it so I didn't bother trying it again

FYI :

1) The key is a short cut for leaving Sensrie's Island, not for going there
2) In the un-patched version of v1.07 (English) this key does not work (but it doesn't matter as there are many other ways off the island)

I have another question, where is that damn treehouse on forest moon. Im not going to search each tree on this damn moon, I get attacked by those annoying bugs every couple of steps, gosh I am so tempted to give this game a heave ho

The tree is located behind a swamp SW of Dor Grestin and demands the password "SCHNISM" to allow entry.

There are hints in this game which lead you directly there.
