That's the problem : Operation wolf is graphically nearer to the arcade than Operation Thunderbolt is, and for a reason :

Ocean France started OPwolf with Amiga first in mind, Ocean UK did the opposite, it was ST first then Amiga.

It shows graphically. However, OPthun moves a bit better and faster than OPwolf.

The CPC version is fast, colored and use a double hardware buffer.

And yes, the C64 versions of Opwolf and Opthun are abominations.

There is quite some love for the C64 Wolf version, but I agree - I think it sucks. Then you have the Zzap controversy with their review of the C64 version of Thunderbolt

I think I still remember the cheat to make more sprites appear in the Amiga version - type in SPECCY MODE!

I really enjoyed this one - the colourful graphics and large sprites made me feel like I was playing an arcade in my bedroom.

One thing though - there was no way I was completing this game without cheats. Not a chance.

Yeah well... you're describing more than half of the Amiga games I had there

I think with all we know now, we can do better! After 30 Amiga is still impressive!
