"All these dislikes are just Australians liking this" - ha ha, that made me smile

Love that song by the way, so catchy. That brings me to: Toto - Africa

Year of release, pretty please...
Bob Seger - Days When the Rain Would Come (1985)

John Fogerty feat. Bruce Springsteen - Who'll Stop the Rain ? (concert from 1993) not composed during the 80's this one, but I wanted to put side by side two great songs about the rain.

If you're a Tears for Fears fan, there's a good chance you also like Simply Red, so here is their first smashing hit : Simply Red - Money's Too Tight To mention (1985)

Dire Straits - Brothers In Arms (1985) I believe this one is also a great song to wake up by :

You mean Mick Hucknall's voice, truth to be told, not a huge fan either. Ok then, what about Simple Minds ? Could anyone not be moved by their most famous song ? You have guessed right, the anthem dealing with the general feeling in this part of the world about N. Mandela long-lasting imprisonment ?
Simple Minds - Mandela Day (1989)

Have you noticed, poor Roby's wheels stalling at 3'42'' ? Just when that electrifying dance number from its human Italian partner has ended up. Guess it's about to sink a connecting rod .

lol That was my opening suggestion. Good to see I'm not the only one that has some fondness for that song. It's really the first song I can actively remember that I registered it as a piece of music I found pleasant to listen to. Ah I'm blessed to be an early 80's child.

Q Lazzarus - Goodbye Horses

Everyone knows that one really awkward scene from Silence of the Lambs (or Family Guy, or Clerks 2) But I was more entertained dreaming away to this rather hypnotic tune while cruising around in GTA 4.

NOTE: SFW. I did not link to a clip from the movie
