Games that make best use of Atari Lynx's graphic capabilities?
Designed as most ppl know, by, among others, R j Micah and Dave Needle, the Lynx could do some neat trick. They kind of invented "mode 7" before the SNES came out and they had hardware for scaling sprites.
I have a few games for my Lynx but can't really say they really show what the hardware was truly capable of. Any suggestions for Games that push the Lynx? Skickat från min HTC One via Tapatalk |

Tech demos without proper gameplay or any mood.

I always found Shadow Of The Beast to be pretty fucking cool (I like it more than the Amiga version), it has a lot of the scaling effect and many parallax layers.

I actually finished Shadow of the Beast on Lynx. I don't think I've ever finished the Amiga version sad to say.

I suppose S.T.U.N. Runner qualifies too...
The Lynx didn't have the CPU power to do a decent polygonal version, but the "mode 7" style / fake 3d works nicely. Certainly feels and plays faster then the Amiga version (As far as I can remember anyway) |

The resolution is so tiny that I guess that helps making it feel faster.

wondering if it was also possible to test directly the programs via the Amiga-Lynx development kit bitd |

Gauntlet wasn't bad, IIRC it had some Neo Geo type zooming going on, wasn't as playable though due to small screen area.
There was some sort of Bi-plane based 2.5D shooter too, Warbirds? That was quite nice. |

Slime World is really great. Much better than the Megadrive version.

it's a terrible game but i think Shadow Of The Beast looks amazing for being on a Lynx
actually since there's a few gameplay mechanics changes (energy bar!!) it plays a little better |
