Another round of "What the heck is this... thing?"

Hi Folks,
Slowly, slowly working through this Amiga full of bits. Huge thanks to everyone who helped me identify the SuperBonio ATX adapter, (Especially Superbonio himself ) which I'm now getting ready to use.
Now I have another doodad from the same jumble. Now think I have a better grip on this one, but if anyone knows more about it I'd happily take information if you've got it.

The text reads U7 Vector 8520, and in a smaller font PCKB rev.3.0 A600/1200
The lone chip on it is marked 12C509 04/SM 9748SAW

So what do I know? It's obviously a keyboard adapter, most likely AT by the size of the connector, and the name, although I guess it could be for an A2/3K keyboard?

It sits over U7 CIA. It uses a single microprocessor to do translation.

Annnd that's it.

Anyone know anything more about these beasties? I got nada on the intarwubs.

(If I ever get the board working I'll plug it in and try it )

It's obviously an AT keyboard adaptor for A600/A1200. Don't know if it actually will work with both A600 and A1200.

Yes, that's pretty much what I had guessed. Have you encountered one in the wild?

Cheers!

You pretty much guessed it. The 12C509 is an 8 bit micro of the same family that is used on boards today for Amiga/PS2 kb translation. They would now be typically 16F628/a, and have the same instruction set.

Well I can add that it 'works' too :-)
I'm going to have to hack on a PS/2 keyboard connector though, as both my AT keyboards have interesting issues that I can pretty much tie down to the keyboard. Once I have a working keyboard on it I'll try and work out what keys map to what.
