Think there might be a case for asking for donations depending on what you're looking to do, and how to present this content. If it's the case you're putting work into great presentation and how the songs are mastered, along with giving full credit to the original authors, then I can see how that could be justified.
Seeing how the original poster is plugging his channel (fine by me, some great choices on your channel too), I shall do the same in a shameless plug..
