Good point. And as little fondness as I have for GNU licenses in general, it won't really hurt in this case. Copy&paste away.

I’ve just added my guide site to the Amiga Links. Not sure I like this sites setup as you don’t have to register and info is not moderated before it goes up... This is asking for problems.

Well if EAB has a wiki, it's better to have to register before you can add data (like on exotica wiki page) so no-one can pretend to be you.

With DokuWiki it would be easy to write a custom registration backend that uses the already existing EAB users database (I have done it for my site). No need to register twice then.

Right, that sounds very good actually. Again I have no clue how hard/easy that would be with other Wiki backends.

Yes, EAB's account integration is needed, I see 3 way to do it for MediaWiki (very popular) and one for Doku. Support of EAB's local usergroup is needed, as users could simply join one Wiki usergroup like they are joiny the zone's one.

MediaWiki integration #1
MediaWiki integration #2
MediaWiki integration #3

DokuWiki integration #1

None of these seem acceptable, because of the username restriction (I think they're basically the same anyways). It would seem like that'll be a problem with MediaWiki no matter what you do.

Edit: Plus expertise in integrating DokuWiki with existing userbases already exists here (Duke), so that may be handy as well.

Big mess?

Ah because you think each and every wiki may be edited even by unregistered users?
This is past.
Many wikis are now registered-users-only.

I agree with you that this might be mandatory.

I would agree that making the WIKI editing a mandatory logon to be neccessary just to make sure you can track who made changes and when.

If you really want to know how Wikipedia can really run amok, take a gander at THIS.

It's from the Colbert Report on Comedy Central about my home state, it's just too damn funny

I'd be happy to write down stuff about the European Amiga demo scene up until 1992, anyone wanna collaborate? Send a private message if so. I have a demo programmer's view, maybe a swapper's view would be good too. In fact I'll ask my friend Johan.
